This was a long distance challenge

We actually did this project in December of 2007 during that massive Ice Storm that hit Kansas & Missouri. We have pictures of the ice we will have to dig them up.

All the equipment operated at the former Atlas powder mill plant in Joplin, Missouri. Powder mills produced the dynamite used in coal mines.

All equipment was 36" ga

Very unique equipment for truck load #1

The magazine car has wood brake shoes as to not cause sparks.
Stack load of Easton arch bar trucks
Plymouth with a low profile cab
(2) 36" ga cross overs

We are glad to preserve this equipment as there are very few pieces of powder mill equipment preserved.

Special thanks to Ron & Rich for driving & braving the ice storm.

Bad news Chris it does not run. We have to work on it quite a bit . The engine is just plain worn out and it is not worth fixing. It has a allis chalmers 4 cylinder diesel in it and we have not heard good things about this type of motor. We are probably going to put something else in it. We just don't know what yet. I can tell you this the locomotive itself is in great shape and the wheels are perfect. :!: It even has a cab heater and a block heater for the engine for winter.

Ohio Mike.
