My Grandmother-in-law recently came to live with us. She lived in the town of Ben's Creek and had 2 mines almost directly in her back yard. Her Husband also worked for the Soleman mine (sp?) which had a big disaster in the 30-40's. He survived. I have 3 pictures I got from her. I can't get much detail as to where exactly they where, she is 91. Anyone have any information, maps, photos. Are there any remains still visible today. Thanks in advance. Dave

I don't really know much about the Bituminous area however are any of the pictures any good? I would look forward in seeing them.

I'll scan and post them. They are all above ground, but they are good vintage photos. Dave
