Chris at the old henry colliery workings across the street from old tyme charlies there is huge activity going on, they have been test boring the ground, they hit water maybe 10 feet down, they literally ran over the cap of the old shaft (hope they know) and its covered with old coal dust, the old mine building they are hauling ther steel frame away from, they tore down alot of the woods and they are obviously looking at the test bores, we found one of those elevators that would be an escapeway, i have pics ill email them but i have to go out now so ill be sure to, literally under river st there is this old riveted elevator inside of a concrete opening, we found it to be quite intact. this elevator is amazing, the rivets would suggest its quite old?

I was there and noticed an opening that went under river st did not appear to be part of a storm drain or the plains sewer syst, is not very big either, definately not big enough for a mine car. it is square in shape and there is s pile of waste coal material inront which only blocks the enterence about half way from ground to top, leaving it passable. Has anyone else seen this?
