nice, ill have to have a look thanks for the tip. like you mentioned there is one that i know of by the foundations. easiest way is to come from eynon on rt6, go across 107 and just as you cross the bridge over 107, there is a turn off on the left. there is a concrete footer there. this is the base of a tipple where they would load coal trucks. follow this up and over the hill straight from the path and there is slope youll see. its blasted shut, but makes a decent photo. you can feel cool air blasting out of here in the summer but its sealed. and like i mentioned before there are ones directly across 107 from the foundations up on the hill. just remains really, but you can see plain as day where the drifts were.

Ah, so thats what that was from, I walked up far enough to see that footer and grab a nice chunk of coal for my shelf, and then I left, I knew I shoulda went up farther, but my girlfreind was getting impatient waitin in the car for me and by the time I got up there I was completely soaked, so I just turned around, I'll have to take a walk up there again one of these days.

BTW, my grandparents used to tell me about a mine that was on the next street over from (South of) Gibson Street, theres a bunch of culm piles back there but I never checked for an opening back there. Do you know of anything back that way?
