Anyone familliar with swoyersville probally knows about the structure which i believe is a tipple at the top of brook street. I have a map from 1887 ofthe area showing the location of several mine workings in the area. is this part of the Homestead colliery? the map shows a breaker there but no tipple as well as a drift in the area. it appars as though there was 1 drift with 1 set of tracks going to the breaker from the drift. The workings are small as well and described o the map as "old workings" mabee going in a few hundered feet if that.

is that the wooden tipple just inside the woods off the street? I just can't remember what street that is.... probably the same one. That was part of the Maltby Colliery in the later days.... or at least it was the Maltby tunnel right there... don't really know if there was a colliery attached to that name.
