Someplace near mayfield there is supposed to be an abandoned walking dragline in a stripping. It is supposed to be near an abandoned junkyard with 1940s thru 60s cars in it. anyone know where this is exactly id like to get pics of the dragline and junkyard.

The Corvair & Desoto would be nice cars if they were restored. Whoever owns that Junkyard could probably get a pretty penny for some of those old automobiles. Take Care.

The Corvair may make a neat UGM promo vehicle in black paint & orange flames painted on the sides. Banks would probably volunteer to keep it in his Garage during the Winter!  Take Care all.

I have seen this drag line before, its been a few years since I was there though. If you search around that area there is also an old dam that they used to call for water for the steam engines when baumans was a rail yard, there are also some really old foundations around that area. there is another walking dragline in eynon like chris said that is almost complete with a boom and bucket that is a walker also, there is also a medium size one that is on tracks right up from it that is complete and a small little cute one. along with an old fire truck from blakely, a water truck, a dynamite truck, and I think 6 drilling machines, its pretty much like a strip mining junkyard. if you park in cousin's gas station in eynon, if you look up and scan the mountain to the right, you can see the boom of the walker sticking up out of the trees, easier to see in fall when there no leaves.

That's the spirit, Banks! :D :D

Adam Z- It sounds like the NYO & W Resevoir is where that Dragline is located. I never have heard or seen it before. I wonder if it was the same one used in Carbondale for the West Side Mine Fire? There is a photo of a Dragline at Carbondale in a Genology Website I posted here a few months ago. (www.italygenes.com) Take Care all.

The link to the website that was posted is actually my girlfriends website. We went up there last winter to see it. You can check out my pics from the same day on my webshots, as well as some pics of the Page up on the mountain by 247, and one on the mountain behind Aylesworth in Jermyn: http://community.webshots.com/user/SD40John

The dragline would make an interesting restoration project. It's only missing a few key parts.
