Had a great time out in Ohio in early September.. I finally got some pictures up. I'm missing some I have to find though... Thanks to OVCC Pete and Mike for showing me around the bitty land!

Looks like you got to see several interesting sites.

Personally, I liked the tag board at AB more that the one in Ohio. The one in Ohio reeks of workplace politics and BS. Both of which I've had my fill of years ago.

Yeah, the stockpiles do get big. But so are the trains.

Simply put the two type of mining cannot be compared only contrasted. Personally I find the Anty more intriguing.

as i drove through richmond va yesterday there was a coal train passing under the road through the city. must have been over a hundred cars long, pretty cool. bitty coal but pretty cool :wink:

Where was the rock cut? As I came through Eastern Ky this afternoon on I-64, I saw several miles that looked similar.

im not sure if im thinking of the same ones, but where are those rocks cuts ive seen some that look very similar to that...

That rock cut was headed on rt 7 along the ohio river between moundsville and wheeling. just across the river from Consol's Showmaker and McElroy mines

i think that may be pretty typical of bitty territory rock.... which makes for some hateful top, but...
