I have a question for anyone out there. If I don't use my Koehler wheat lamp for a month or two do I have to do anything to it so that it doesn't get bad? Should I let it burn down and recharge it? Should I leave it on my charger on the low setting? I would appreciate any advice.

you should always have it sitting there on low. although ive never let mine sit that long i know some who have and as long as you have it on low and the water is full there will be no problem. turning it on every once and awhile isnt a bad idea, just make sure you charge it on high for awhile then put it back on low.

Scott,

I have an old charger, that does not have a high/low setting. Since mine sit a lot I just leave them off charger and check them every now and then for water level and charge. They seem to be holding ok. But, if I was going to need them for a long day, I would fully charge them before use.

I think the major point would be, don't let them sit and go completely dead, dry or over charge them. They will loose water pretty quick on a charger.

It all boils down to how often are you using it. And how often you check the water level. Mine haven't had a good use since I got back from Pa. Had I left mine on charge, they would have been cooked before I remembered to check them.
