Mid-Continent Coal and Coke Co. of Carbondale. Had a railroad there called the Crysal River Railroad. Lots of good info in the "Crystal River Pictorial" Sundance Publishing. Denver.

Lots of coke produced for the smelting industry around those parts.
Aspen was a huge consumer in the silver mining/smelting.

There you go, Chris.

Right at the turn off from the State road to the Forest Service road that goes back to the mining area is a string of coke ovens. There is some historical plaque, but I don't have a picture of it. These sit right at the community of Redstone. The developer of Mid-Continent built a place commonly called the Redstone Castle. It was a hotel, but I seem to remember it being sold in bankruptcy when we lived in Denver.

I bet if you googled Redstone, you'd see the ovens.
