What im trying to figure out is if it still exsists and if so where is it. because ill probably be biking that trail this summer and id like to take pictures of the portal. Now i figured it is roughly 800ft or so north of the grade crossing near hacklenbarny town. i can PM you a map if thatd help since you are familiar with the area asnd i am not

I know exactly where the tunnel entrance is located and am actually going there this Sunday (10/28/12). It's only open for a few hundred feet until you get to the point where it's either been blasted shut or it caved in on it's own. It's pretty much solid rock so the opening is very stable, in fact, tens of thousands of mountain bikers go directly above it on the Switchback Railroad Trail every year without a clue because it's about 30' below the path. If anyone's interested in seeing it please contact me via email. rich@ezmicro.com
