Didn't hear anything about it, but then again our news here in the US is 99% political persuasion one way or the other and if you're lucky you'll hear a news story. We had a similar incident at a salt loader that was a tower kind of like that one. Collapsed on the truck, killed the driver. Took days to get to him actually. Found the cause was corroded upright support beam. Can happen to coal towers too, especially old ones, but happened much quicker to the salt tower for obvious reasons. That wasn't far from here in upstate NY. Lansing NY, not maybe 45 minutes from here.

Yes, that did happen, several years ago. It actually happened in a place called Ben Creek, not Mingo creek. This is now Alpha Natural Resources Cobra operation. Used to be the Jewel of Arch coal. This is the same location that had a silo blow up in the early 90's.

COOL thats where i worked last summer!! 8) :lol: yeah back in the day a rail car derailed and knocked over there rail load out, where ever i had to work at the train load out i was still leary. they also has a 130' coal silo fall over and a bottom feeder of the raw coal silo blow out almost burying two guys
