whilst it looks just a bit cheesy, i will have to drag the wife to go see it even though she hates horror movies. we should get a group together and go watch it so we can tear it apart technically while the girls are screaming

Looks like another version of My Bloody Valentine. Its hard to believe that an abandoned mine would have lights that still worked; just an observation from the preview.

Chris, I like your idea of a group critique of the movie.

Getting a group together would have been great, however the movie has limited viewing in very select theaters. According to the website, I don't see anything on the east coast! We might have to get a our group together when it comes out on bluray instead...

For some reason after watching this trailer I get the impression that the characters are going to play into the stereotypical carefree mine explorer portrayed in the "stay out" campaigns, compulsively curious and utterly stupid while facing exaggerated dangers. I wouldn't be surprised if it uses the same tried-and-true formula where one by one, each person in the group is gradually killed off, and one of the characters becomes real sketchy toward the end and turns against the protagonist (any movies come to mind?). But hey, we have ourselves a mine movie!

Interestingly, after doing some searching around online, I came across an early story board for the movie. They really did their homework researching the dangers of abandoned mines. I imagine they developed the plot further though.
