Does anyone know of a place I could try a metal detector at? I'm interested in old mining places to see what I could find. Anywhere in Schuylkill County is fine.

Thanks,

Eddie

LOL in know your joking but Tobyhanna State park is littered with WW2 and WW1 artillery rounds. They are constantly calling in the Ordinance Dept to get rid of them. I get mailings from the Govt saying if you hear an explosion don't worry its just them blowing them up!!!!! lol

We've thought about that too as a way to find stuff, but you'd probably not want to try that at an Iron Mine. You'd have problems not getting the thing to go off!

I lived 5 miles from the park, I know the history behind the whole thing. I remember when they had the park shut down for a while, that was pretty crazy. Everyone once and awhile you'll hear the thud, pause and listen, and then go back to your daily routine.
