it was a cool trip for sure! was neat riding from tunk to pittston, it was just slow going cause the rail is bad but once we hit pittston that thing really opened up! alot of cool sights to see too, id recommend it to anyone and it was well worth the money for the tickets!

Just got a rejection on that day off request. That means I have to find someone qualified to cover the shift since the guy opposite me let his EMT lapse and failed the physical for crash. So I can get the day off only if I can get someone to volunteer for it. Saturdays are hard to get anyone to cover, expecially now that we're down to 4 qualified people out of a staff of 12.

What an awesome ride that'll be though. Jim Thorpe is such a cool town, too. 3 hrs there would be nice. I'm working on it and hope the tickets don't sell out before hand.

Miket,

I noticed 425 running a fall run there in the pics, are they going to run another Tunk to Thorp trizzane in the Fall? I have a better shot at that one, I'm writing the "remember when your uncle died and I covered . . ." e-mails right now to try and get someone to cover for me, but Fall I can apply for now, it's pretty much wide open for vacation at this point.

when we rode the first one last year we purposely picked the front car, that way we could be by the engine on the way down and on the end of the train on the way back. well, it didnt work out that way. their private car was coupled on the end and we were disappointed we couldnt stand on the end and look over the back. however, since the private car has the balcony on the end and they just switched cars around the balcony was against our car. my dad and i stood at the end of our car and had a nice long talk with the vp of r&n. then he opened the gate and gave us a tour of the private car, that was cool! anyways we rode with them for the remainder of the trip and in talking with them said they should run it up again in the fall....... i didnt know they did, guess they liked our idea :D

Honestly, I have know idea if they're running it in the fall. The May excursion is the only one they released information on so far.

Thanks. I'll have to keep an eye out for a Fall trip. Looks like the May trip may be a bust for me anyway. Looking at the OT board, I will be assigned to work 4PM until 4AM, then I'd have to go home for a bit then leave at 7:30AM. Kinda be a long day for me. I could do it, but I'd just be miserable and not enjoy the trip.
