Me and seven other gals tried to give them reason to stay, or at least go out. Alas, Chris had his in-law commitments, and I think poor Mike has dropped in his bed by now. He was TIRED.
But I was glad that the gals were able to check out the mine, and it's always good to put names with faces of the people I haven't met yet.

Ya, always nice to meet the forum folks in person. Hadn't met you Shana, or John with the speeder yet, so it was nice to finally do so. The day was great, only rained inside. And Eric showed dad everything he needed to know to restore his carbide lamp, and even gave him a bag of carbide. Wicked nice.

The food was great, too. I bought a ton of halupki to take home. It's what's for dinner at work here tonight and probably many more to come. Kitty even had one when I got home last night and devoured it. Oh, and Amy's cake sold out first so it must have been good. I didn't get a piece, even though there was one in the gift shop fridge for the volunteers.

Best part was it was a very nice day out for my grandparents. Everyone was so good to them. They can't wait for the July picnic. Pop shared mine stories with some of the other old-timers there while he walked around the museum and gram was thrilled to watch him do so.

I'm glad everybody had a good time at the No.9 sunday. We try hard to make the Memorial Day picnic and the Labor Day picnic as enjoyable as we can for familes young and old. Hope to see everybody at the Heritage Festival in July and than again at the Labor Day picnic.
