This I had to post up as it is an interesting example of mining methods being used to smuggle drugs across the border. A drug cartel in Mexico financed approximately $1,000,000 to tunnel approximately 900 feet. Wait until you see how you descend 95 feet underground to access the tunnel. This is a vivid example of how much money prohibition puts in the pockets of the underground market...

i see that they used "electric jackhammers" to drill, and i'm assuming they weren't blasting, so how would they get the rock loose? drill a TON of holes? and then what? smash the rock up and pack in in those bags?

hmmmm.... a 90 foot slope, then a 900 ft rock tunnel, with tools you can buy at home depot? this gives me an idea..... anyone want to sink a slope down from mike a's basement?

I'm surprised they did'nt have a rail hualage system to hual out the dirt and then once they were done the drugs, that is all they would need and then it would be really safistacated

I saw on the international nightly news that Egypt is drilling boreholes and filling tunnels with sand. The tunnels were used to smuggle militants, guns , food and other embargoed goods from crossing into the Gaza strip from Egypt. They also pushed large steel sheets up to 70 ft. deep through the desert sand in an effort to block future tunnels from being dug.

This was pretty neat. A lot of work went into this. Would have been neat to see the completed thing, but then again it certainly isn't something that we really need completed.
