(...continued) Shortly after, a mill was erected and the mine was worked continuously from 1929 onward with a brief shutdown period in 1932 through 1933.
The orebody dipped approximately 55 degrees southeast and averaged 25 feet in width. Its breadth was 1,650 feet in height and was worked via six levels averaging 5,000 feet in length by 1954. The levels were connected via inclined raises with sublevels. By 1966, the mine totaled ten working levels. The ore mined was largely magnetite but also present was crystalline hematite encompassing as much as 15% of the total orebody.
The mine was developed by adits and shafts but later during its history, was operated only via shafts.
