I just had my kids exploring in Bolton Landing (near Lake George), looking for Timetown (torn down) and the Coolridge Hill Tuberculosis Clinic. I would have more fun exploring an iron mine. I wanted to see the abandoned incline railway at Prospect Mountain, but fishing and boating got in the way. Your pics of the Putnam County mines are Great! I will download pics of the Clover Hill Mine in Croton Falls, and an 1868 map of the village of Brewster, NY showing the Cheever & Durant portal on the Brush property.
