Here are several links to what is purported to be a Gold mine operation in the Corromandel Range, Nth Island of New Zealand.

In actual fact what the guy stumbled on was a Dept. of Conservation rehabilitation of an old mine drive that is part of a walking track, hence the one lane road and what appears to be a picnic table next to a very modest portal. Several crosscuts were filled in I heard.
