Tamaqua man gets prison for pushing friend into coal pit

A Tamaqua man went to prison after admitting Thursday in Schuylkill County Court that he pushed a former schoolmate into a Coaldale strip mine more than a year ago.
Richard D. George, 24, must spend 11 to 22 months in prison, Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin ruled in imposing a sentence that satisfied the victim but not his mother.
