I was there also. I have no idea although it sort of looks like a boiler. also on the side away from the mine there are some old foundations and walls, does anyone know what these are?

Hello . I am a new You-Tuber named The Coal Cracker. I live on the other side of this mountain. I think this was a steam boiler, and above that there is a foundation that might have been the steam engine base. I did a You-Tube video of this place in November of 2019. I fell in love with this heritage back in 1976 when I toured The Pioneer Tunnel with my family then. I also did a video on a possible second exit 1 mile up the road from Orwigsburg street on Valley road. I also built a ride on train (see Backyard Railroad 99 on You-Tube). The Kiosk at the Newkirk tunnel was vandalized and the map of the mine is missing. Do you have any more info on any mines in this area?? Greatly appreciate any information. Keep this heritage alive..... it built this community and we should honor it as such. L8R
