Mahanoy City park set to see Mollies monument

MAHANOY CITY — An addition to the Molly Maguire Historical Park is expected to be ready by spring.
According to Mahanoy City Councilwoman and Republican-Herald employee Patti Schnitzius, six black granite story board tablets are at E.T. Everett & Sons, Mahanoy City, being engraved with the tale of the Irish Coal Miners.
The $12,390 price tag of the tablets is being paid through a 50 percent matching grant from the Schuylkill River Heritage Corridor.
