They used to have electric engines stationed at the portals, to pull steamers thru the tunnel, because of the fact that no good ventilation fan at the central shaft existed yet.

SWEET! I knew about that, like the old Cascade tunnel, but I didn't think that someone had videos!

Yeah i was just looking for hoosac videos and i stumbled upon this. not that hard to find haha
