Attention all canal and local history aficionados:
This Saturday, August 24, the Canal Day Association will be hosting the 38th Annual Wharton Canal Day, from 10am to 5pm at Hugh Force Park Canal in Wharton, NJ. The event will celebrate the Morris Canal and its contributions to the development of communities along its 107 mile route from Phillipsburg, NJ to Jersey City, NJ. Enjoy a free boat ride down a preserved section of the canal, courtesy of the Canal Society of NJ while munching on a delicious cornish pasty (a miner's delight), watch blacksmith demonstrations, or dance to "ten of NJ's best musical artists" including my band Bon Temps -- I will be on keyboards performing along with a group of very talented musicans playing New Orleans style brass! We will be playing at 2pm. Hope to see some of you there!
