GE storage battery locomotive

Image

this one is essentially the same as the locomotive shown in my 1/29/2008 post (and is the same as the one in Dalado's coal mine car post), but is complete with batteries and UGM'ers.

and that makes it better.

Wow, I like that Ironton locomotive a lot! That thing is neat-o.

you can see the corner of the explosives car in front of the porter pioneer loco at Porter tunnel.

Let's look at some some 30" gauge locomotives at a copper refinery in El Paso, Texas:

Always keep the camera handy, you'll never know what you may find while traveling.
As I was about to drive on the causeway from Houston to Gavelston, I spotted a small Plymouth loco next to the bridge approach. After crossing the span, I made an illegal U-Turn at a safe location and proceeded back to investigate. To my surprise, Traylor Brothers (construction company) were using this Plymouth on a temporary rail bridge to haul cars with construction material and concrete, for the new causeway they were building to replace the old one.

Traylor Brothers has several of these as well as similar Brookvilles. Nice action shot Ray. Most of the time their equipment is stuck underground or in the supply yard. I like the platform with the walkway way mounted to the side of that locomotives complete with a ladder.
