Well here is another project going through our shop.
We actually have a total of (4) of these dump cars. Currently all 36"gauge. The wheels are marked but we are still researching the mfg. of these cars. We estimate the cars were constructed in the early 30's.
Progress report:

The cars were inspected & then quickly determined to be disassembled.

The dump body on every car does not locate in the alignment rails correctly. The only solution was to remove the entire end & reinstall the riveted dump mechanism back on.

The axles have been removed & the decision was made to have (2) cars 36" & (2) cars 42"gauge. The cars in the shop currently are getting regauged to 42" gauge.

New axles have been cut & are in our lathe as of today.

Today we also went to our steel supplier & purchased all new steel for the dump body ends. We will shear them to size within the next few days & then PLASMA cut the radius on the bottom of the V-dump.
