Thats what it is, a car show, its a reunion of the old timers and their race cars who used to race there back in the day plus a car show for people with old cars who havent (such as myself) the place was in operation during drag racing's golden era, from 1963 thru 1972 so it closed before I was born (1976). There wont be any drag racing going on but the show will be held on the old dragstrip itself. There will be music, food, etc. This track is importaint because it wasnt just local guys racing here, but national acts as well. Guys like TV Tommy Ivo, Sox & Martin, Jungle Jim, Stone, Woods, & Cook, Joe Amato got his start there etc etc etc. This was a NHRA sanctioned track, lots of history there.

What kind of shape is the track these days? Do they maintain the grounds at all these days?

it haseny been maintained since 1972, the bleachers are there, the pit is overgrown, the timing tower is partially there, concession stands are there, scale is there, track is there, but you couldnt race on it due to its condition. if you ever want to check it out send me a pm cool place, there are parts and cars around, i remember seeing a 58 edsel wagon and i think a nash with a caddy (supposedly) engine in it.
