John,

Was the lighting just that perfect? Or was the photographer?

The color looks like Kodachrome film. Excellent shots

Doug, the weather was perfect. And what can I say, I use a Sony camera-they only take excellent pictures!! Seriously, though, all I did was resize!

Yeah, that was a nice trip, PM ....so who are you, PM 1156? Reveal yourself!!

A few pictures from the Union County Industrial Railroad ride last Sunday.... it was a short one, only 20 miles or so, round trip, but it was great to ride through one of my favorite towns, Lewisburg. We only had 12 cars out so things kept moving right along at a nice leisurely pace. This was old Reading trackage between White Deer and Winfield, with a short side trip to Milton. We started just south of where we turned around on the day before in Montgomery.

and what ride would be complete without a little excitement?... I managed to get the truck stuck in some mud that was disguised as grass while turning around (trailers are no good in the mud....). I had to get the North Shore RR hy-rail truck to pull my truck + trailer out!! The operation left some huge ruts and the Sheffield got peppered pretty bad with mud...... it looks like I took it 4-wheelin!!

Hi Mark. Welcome to the forum!

So, I went back and looked through my pictures-I don't know exactly which Fairmont model is which-did you have that really old Pere Marquette Fairmont? or was it the newer blue one with the black/silver striping?

John

yes the pere marquette m9 was mine,it is from the early 40s and has been totally rebuilt from the ground up and runs like a champ.the only thing i dont like about it is,that it does not have any suspension just a solid mount axle.will definately hurt your back if you are on rough track!
i have been a member on here since feb,but have never posted.i am on nepacrossroads alot.
here is the steam loco i gets to play with when i am not running my fairmont.

That is sweet!

Now I'm seriously jealous. That is a nice engine. Big enough to have decent power and small enough to run on branch lines.
