hey Mike, thanks for coming out for the ride! 90 miles makes for a good day!

sunday was good too. riding on 155 pound rail up the Shamokin Valley past the Glen Burn site was sweet.

iron mine recon this coming weekend combined with a two day track car run through the Adirondacks..... its gonna be good!!

Banks,

That is one of the problems with livin' balls to the wall.

There is no room to squeeze anything in.

And personally I hate making those choices.

no idea how old it is. it has a opposed, air-cooled, hand cranked, 2 cylinder engine, with exposed pushrods and rockers, and a friction-drive transmission.

I have researched NWHS archives a great deal, especially VGN AFE's, and I feel certain your car was originally an Virginian Railway car, number 1005, built 1925. I have a VGN Sheffield FM model 41, number 905. Aubrey Wiley Lynchburg, Va

Hi Aubrey, good to hear from you!

Virginian, you say? For what its worth, my car does have a brass N&W tag on it:

Don't know if it necessarily means anything though.

I would love to see the research you have done. Can you tell me more?

John

Johm,

Turn that brass plate over and it may say "VGN 1005." Could we email directly? VgnRy43 at aol dot com

Very Nice! It is cool to see it. I'd love to see a size comparison next to the Y6-B (I always have to look that up. I want to say Y16-SB for some reason)
