"cleaning" the mine...... are you refering to cleaning up the loose coal in places after they are cut? if so, in our mine the miner operator will cut the left side, set over, cut the right side, set back over and clean up the left, then set back over and clean up the right side... the bolter comes in to bolt the place, then the scoop man comes in to rock dust the place and pushes any loose coal left over up to the face so the miner can load it out when he comes in for his next cut.
This is pretty much how it is done at our mine. Except the bolters hand dust, and the scoop guy uses a flinger duster on 3rd shift.Occasionaly they flinger the travel road,pod dust the belt and returns.
