when you throw the go lever forward the term "balls out" is usually used :D

where did that term originate?

the balls are governor weights on the throttle of a steam engine. as the rpm is advanced the balls swing out. when they are all the way out or, balls out, the engine is at max speed. put a load on it and the engine will slow down causing the balls to swing back down and in. this will make the engine give itself more go, and speed back up to meet the demanding load. nice mike.

Thanks Greg, Yes, Banks, I did say that! Its a technical term we teach visitors as they gaze upwards at the fly ball governors on display in Bethlehem. You all should come see them.

mike a. cant answer cause he already knows the answer!

you have 3 light switches in the house. each switch controls a bulb upstairs. you can only go up the stairs once. how can you tell which switch controls which bulb.

and there is a real way to do this.

away from each other. you cant see them. and mr engineer, the answer isnt get out the wiring diagram as one of my buddies already tried that one. this circuit was designed by mike a. so the diagram is prolly wrong anyways :wink:
