Brisbin breaker DL&W -Glen Alden coal company. Current site is adjacent to the Village at Tripps park, located in the West Scranton . Operated 1867 to 1919 when the breaker was closed and dismantled. Coal was sent to the Diamond breaker. The shaft was filled in 1940.

John Brisbin (July 13, 1818 – February 3, 1880
Originally a teacher in up state new York he accepted the position councel and land agent for the DL&W railroad in January 1855.1857 became general superintendent. Appointed president of the DL&W in 1863 and held the position till 1868.Upon retirement he served as general councel . His more memorable events are his part in settling the miners strike of 1877, which led to a riot in Scranton.
