These cars came from the Seldom Seen in 2007. The guy who used to run the tour there, Glenn, bought them a ways back and used them on floats in parades in the Northern Cambria/Patton area. He told me they came from an old guy near Altoona that was rebuilding and selling mine cars and that the old guy also had a small mine on his property.
Fast forward to 2012. I got a call about a guy near Altoona that was selling a bunch of mining junk from his dad's mine. Welp, sure enough, that was the place. The old man passed away and his kids were cleaning the place out. One mine car left that they wouldn't sell. Tipple and fan were still there. PJ and I went up there and ended up with a bunch of junk. Story was the old man was a bit of a rebel and bootlegged coal. Classic one-man mine. I don't think I took any pictures but PJ might have...
