The mine overlooks the beautiful Rock Pond with an Adirondack peak in the distance.
An intact steam boiler.
It is in excellent condition. It just goes to show that if you leave something alone, it can survive the test of time.
The adit is reached and looks very reminiscent of Buttermilk Falls Mine.
Like Buttermilk, the texture of the floor is well, just like thick buttermilk.
Unfortunately no trackage.
Some work has been done here besides tunneling...
It appears the graphite deposit was merely tapped.
Up on the surface however and above the adit tunnel is a large open pit working, now water filled.
