I also found this article in the Daily Record today and it says the following:
MORRIS WATER
Don't use mine shafts for storage
To the Editor:
Storing water in old mine shafts is an oxymoron. Trace quantities of heavy metals naturally occur and are costly to remove from the stored water (e.g.; lead is naturally occurring in the Scrub Oaks Mine area).
The State of Colorado is drowning in the overflow of water from Rocky Mountain mines containing heavy metals.
The state and the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority need to coordinate with Colorado immediately.
That's what I found and rewrote it word for word. Any comments?
